FICCI says budget 2021 will revive growth in economy

FICCI President Uday Shankar has praised the Union Budget 2021-22 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Talking about the Rs 35,000 crore allocated towards Covid-19 vaccination, Shankar said that the Finance Minister and government have clearly indicated that driving vaccination rapidly is a big agenda.

New Delhi: FICCI President Uday Shankar on Monday complimented the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the Budget 2021 and said this budget is focused on reviving growth, driving investment and yet sensitive to the condition that people are facing due to the pandemic.

On being asked about his comments on government's announcement for providing Rs 35,000 crore towards Covid-19 vaccination in 2021-22 fiscal, FICCI president said, "It is a substantial allocation for vaccination. The Finance Minister and government have clearly indicated that driving vaccination rapidly is a big agenda."

Uday Shankar appreciated the Finance Minister for announcing that senior citizens above 75 years of age with only pension income will be exempted from filing tax returns. He said people who are retired, have an additional responsibility. So, it is a sensitive and thoughtful decision from by the government.
