New Delhi: Rohan Gupta, the National Media Coordinator of AICC on Sunday claimed that comparison of exit poll data shows large variation and the ground reality is 'different,' referring to NDA win predicted by most of the exit polls.
"Two lack sample voters do not reveal the ground reality," he said.
Most exit polls forecast another term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with some of them projecting that BJP-led NDA will get more than 300 seats to comfortably cross the majority mark of 272 in the Lok Sabha.
Earlier, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had said that she does not trust "exit poll gossip."
Speaking about the opposition unity, he claimed that the aim is to remove Narendra Modi from the post of Prime Minister.
"Who becomes the next Prime Minister is not the agenda, the agenda is to end the unaccountable rule of Narendra Modi," he said.
If sources are to be believed, Chandrababu Naidu has been entrusted with the task of bringing opposition parties together at the behest of opposition leader Sonia Gandhi.
Naidu has come up with this strategy that should the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) falls short of the majority then Congress along with opposition parties will form the government.
On May 13, DMK leader MK Stalin went on record stating that Rahul Gandhi will be the next PM after which Naidu has been conducting a series of meetings with regional parties leaders.
Naidu met Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Saturday to discuss the possible alliance with other like-minded parties.
Hours later, he flew down to Lucknow to meet Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati.
