Nita Kanwar, a Pakistani migrant, who has recently won the Sarpanch elections with 362 votes, has supported the CAA. She said that girls like her faces problems to marry an Indian man and to apply for citizenship of India, she herself has to wait 8 years to get the citizenship.

Jaipur: Pakistan origin "Indian" sarpanch of Natwada village, Tonk district of Rajasthan Neeta Kanwar has supported CAA. She stated to ETV Bharat that this Act is very important for Daughters like her.

Nita Kanwar states that she welcomes CAA because of girls like her faces problems to marry an Indian man and to apply for citizenship of India, she herself has to wait 8 years to get the citizenship.

Nita migrated in 2001 and got her BA degree from Sophia College in Ajmer in 2005 and married Punya Pratap Karan in 2011.

Despite being married to Punya Pratap Karan, the son of Thakur Laxman Karan of Natwara, she had to wage an eight-year-long battle to get Indian Citizenship.

She got citizenship of India in the year 2019 after which she tried her luck in the Sarpanch elections and won with 362 votes. Notably, her Father-in-law has been the Sarpanch for three times.

Pakistan born Nita visited her uncle in India to complete her education and she got married in the year 2011 in Tonk village. She got citizenship four months earlier in September 2019 which brought great joy to the villagers.

Alongside Neeta, her mother-in-law and father-in-law also supports CAA and states that this law is a relief to the helpless people.

After shifting here she wanted to serve the village which led her to contest the Sarpanch election and then she became Sarpanch of Natwada Gram Panchayat of tonk district of Rajasthan.

Nita states that the village's development is her priority. She wants to work towards improving education and health in the village.

Neeta states that , she welcomes CAA because there is problem in the marriage of Rajputana girls to Indian groom as they face problems in taking citizenship of India, she herself has to wait 8 years to get the citizenship.







Along side women safety, education and health care she also had conversation about the village's issues . Pakistan born Neeta visited her Uncle in India to complete her education and she got married in the year 2011 in tonk village. She got citizenship four months earlier  in September 2019 which brought great joy to the villagers. Neeta wants to serve her village. Alongside Neeta her mother-in-law and father-in-law also supports CAA and states that this law is relief to the helpless people.





Got citizenship after 8 years





Neeta is original resident of Pakistan , she is Sarpanch of Natwada Gram Panchayat  of tonk district of Rajasthan she got citizenship  in 2019 after waiting for the 8 long years.





When Natwada Sarpanch's seat turned applicable for general category in the lottery , Neeta's Father-in-law decided to make her fight elections and now she has became sarpanch.



After winning the election Neeta states that village development is her priority. She sees a need to work on the direction of education and health.





Got married in the Royal family





After completing her Bachelor's degree from Sophia College, she got married in the Royal family of Natwada to the son of Thakur Lakshman Kanwar ,  prince Punya Pratap kanwar in the year 2011. She got citizenship of India in the year 2019 after which she tried her luck in the elections and won with 362 votes. Back in time her Father-in-law law has been the Sarpanch for three times .
