Western India gears up for 3rd phase of polls

WEST INDIA
In the western part of the country, three States and two Union Territories are going to polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Maharashtra:
In the state of Maharashtra 14 seats are going for polls out of a total of 48 seats in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 23. With 249 candidates in the fray tomorrow, nearly 2.57 crore electors will decide the fate of these candidates on Tuesday.

The 14 seats going to polls are -

  1. Jalgaon
  2. Raver (both in north Maharashtra)
  3. Jalna
  4. Aurangabad (Marathwada)
  5. Raigad
  6. Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg (Konkan)
  7. Pune
  8. Baramati
  9. Madha
  10. Sangli
  11. Satara
  12. Kolhapur
  13. Hathkanangale (western Maharashtra)
  14. Ahmednagar (south Maharashtra)

Gujarat:
Gujarat, with a total of 26 seats is going all-in at once in single phase tomorrow. 371 candidates are in the fray for 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat. More than 4 crores 41 lakh voters are eligible to cast their vote in the state. More than 51,000 polling stations have been set up in the state. in previous Lok Sabha elections, i.e. in 2014, BJP won in Gujarat with a clear majority over all 26 seats.

The 26 seats going to polls are -

  1. Kachchh
  2. Banaskantha
  3. Patan
  4. Mahesana
  5. Sabarkantha
  6. Gandhinagar
  7. Ahmedabad East
  8. Ahmedabad West
  9. Surendranagar
  10. Rajkot
  11. Porbandar
  12. Jamnagar
  13. Junagadh
  14. Amreli
  15. Bhavnagar
  16. Anand
  17. Kheda
  18. Panchmahal
  19. Dahod
  20. Vadodara
  21. Chhota Udaipur
  22. Bharuch
  23. Bardoli
  24. Surat
  25. Navsari
  26. Valsad

Goa:
With only two seats, Goa is going to polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls. BJP had won from both the constituencies in the state of Goa in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. This year the expert's forecasts are favourable to BJP and Congress, so both the parties are expected to one seat each in the state.

The 2 seats going to polls are -

  1. North Goa
  2. South Goa

Daman and Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli:
The two Union Territories are going to polls in 3rd phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019, with one seat each. BJP currently holds power in both the constituencies.
