ETV BHARAT exclusive talk with Kusum who fought chain snatchers

Kusum Kumari not only snatched back the phone from the robbers but also helped the police to put the criminals behind bars. Kusum did not think about her life as she fought the criminals because her phone was more dear to her, which was bought by her father.

Jalandhar (Punjab): On 31st August, a 15-year-old girl, Kusum, broke her arm during a fight with robbers at Kapurthala Chowk in Jalandhar.

She bravely fought two bike-borne men who attacked her with a sharp weapon while trying to snatch her phone. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera.

Kusum was walking back home when two bike-borne men followed her, and one of them grabbed her hand and attempted to snatch her phone.

Kusum, however, managed to grab the man by his t-shirt and drag him off the bike.

In an exclusive talk with ETV Bharat, Kusum said she did not think about her life while fighting the robbers because she valued her phone more, which was a gift from her father.

The mobile phone was brought for online studies.

Kusum's father is a daily wage labourer. She said, the phone is more valuable than her life because it is her school, master and books.

Due to this bravery of Kusum, not only are the criminals behind bars but she has become an example for the people.
