New Delhi: Ecuadorian ambassador to India Hector Cueva Jacome appreciated India's achievement in the health sector especially in the production of generic medicines and said that India is a laboratory of the world.
Talking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Hector Cueva claimed that India can give Ecuador a 'right to health' as it is the biggest producer of generic medicines.
Expressing his aspiration to provide every Ecuadorian 'right to medicine', Hector Cueva said, "While a Hepatitis and Pulmonary Fibrosis medication cost an Indian 90 USD, it costs an Ecuadorian 1000 USD."
He further said, "The idea is to build a bridge between our governments through an agreement so that these medicines can reach Ecuador."
Hector Cueva also talked about India doing exceedingly well in the field of agriculture despite all the issues.
He claimed that agricultural productivity per hectare in India is far better than his country.
On why there is still no Indian embassy in Ecuador, the ambassador commented that several discussions have taken place with Indian Foreign Affairs officials regarding this issue and it's high time that India should have its diplomatic mission in Ecuador.
Hector Cueva is a huge fan of Bollywood and has seen over 100 movies among which Akshay Kumar's Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Padman are his favourites.
He also expressed his desire for a full-fledged Bollywood film to be shot in Ecuador.
