Shivamogga: Bhadravati Tahsildar Sivakumar, who tried to sexually harass a village assistant has been suspended from his post by District Collector K.B. Shivakumar. The woman who was working as a village assistant in Siddapura village in Bhadravati taluk asked Tahsildar to pay her salary. The victim alleged that the tahsildar asked her to cooperate with him to get salary.
The victim's father Avinash was working as a village assistant in the same village. The elder sister of the victim initially worked for five months due to ill health of father Avinash. Avinash recovered soon after and returned to work. But again due to fluctuations in his health, Swati has been working for the past five months.

Swathi asked the tahsildar to pay the remaining fifteen months salary of her father Avinash, her elder sister and herself. When she called the tahsildar he said, he will pay the salary only if she cooperates with him and asked her to come to his place.
Dalit organizations have filed a complaint against the tahsildar at Bhadravati Old City Police Station. As the FIR against tahsildar Shivakumar was lodged, District Collector suspended him.
