Prayagraj: The festival of Makar Sankranti is being celebrated across the country today and with the onset of the auspicious time at 4 a.m in the morning scores of people thronged Sangam coast of Prayagraj also called the land of faith.
Devotees took a dip of salvation at the holy confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati keeping in mind the Covid-19 protocols of social distancing.
Despite the fog and cold, people came in large numbers to take a dip of faith.
According to beliefs, from today onwards, the sun is Uttarayan from Dakshinayan, and taking a bath in the Sangam is beneficial in many ways.
