New Delhi: When the Election Commission is doing its best to conduct fair elections by adopting new methods, some miscreants are interrupting the smooth flow of poll preparations by misusing the cVIGIL app.
The app was unveiled by the Election Commission of India ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls to allow the public to lodge complaints regarding violation of the model code of conduct. However, some notorious elements are filing false complaints in the app.

Delhi's chief electoral officer Ranbir Singh said that they had received an innumerable amount of fake complaints in the past few days.
As many as 15 complaints from Delhi were rejected in the first stage. The rest of the complaints were resolved within a time frame of 100 minutes.
According to Singh, a total of 79 complaints were received through cVIGIl app, among which 35 were correct while the others were fake.
Nowadays, children are also provided with smartphones and they are also sending complaints to the EC. Sometimes these pictures in the complaints are of footwears, fans, etc.
As per the CEO office reports, most of the complaints were related to removal of banners and posters in which immediate actions were taken.
However, the authorities are now trying to spread awareness among the masses on how to use the app.
