New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kapil Mishra, an accused of instigating communal violence in Delhi, has been provided with 'Y' security after he filed an application fearing threat to his life, an official said on Tuesday.
Mishra, who joined the saffron party last year, took to Twitter on Sunday and said that he has been receiving threats through various social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, e-mail and micro-blogging site.

According to the standard security procedure, Mishra will get 11 security personnel, including one or two commandos and two Personal Security Officers (PSOs).
Reacting on the security given to an accused, the Communist Party of India (CPI) vehemently criticised the Home Ministry and Delhi police.

Talking to ETV Bharat CPI National spokesperson Dr BK Kango said, "Despite putting Mishra behind the bars, Delhi police are busy in providing him security 24x7. "
The spokesperson further said that it is the most ironical phase that the country has been witnessing in the regime of the saffron party.
"Instead of registering an FIR against him, they provided him with 11 security personnel. It seems Delhi Police has become an agent of the ruling government," added Kango.
Addressing the gathering, Mishra had issued an ultimatum to the police to vacate the roads blocked by anti-CAA protesters in Jafarabad and Bhahanpura areas within three days and warned that he would be back on the streets if no action was taken.
The riots in Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Gokalpuri, Khajuri Khas and Bhajanpur in Northeast Delhi have so far left 47 people dead and over 300 injured.
