New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (CPI-Marxist) on Saturday has demanded a judicial inquiry by a retired high court judge over the recent violence in Northeast Delhi.
The Left party has also accused the Central government and Delhi police of instigating the violence.
Speaking exclusively with ETV Bharat, former MP and politburo member of the CPI(M) Hannan Mollah said, "We demand a judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court judge. We have serious doubt on the role being played by Delhi police in the violence."
Referring to some videos were circulated on the social media where police personal were seen pelting stones along with the rioters, Mollah said that the role of Delhi police should be inquired.
"CBI or any other government body cannot give any impartial and clear enquiry because we believe rioters, Delhi police and the government were hand in gloves during the violence," said Mollah.

The issue of rising riots in Delhi has not been discussed in the Indian Parliament....because the government is afraid of discussing the violence," Mollah asserted.
Notably, the government has decided to discuss violence in Northeast Delhi in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
A Lok Sabha notification said that the recent law and order situation in some parts of Delhi will come for short duration discussion under Rule 193 on Wednesday after Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi have asked for the same.
The CPM leader, however, said that his party has initiated a fund mobilisation programme from its state units across the nation. "We have asked all our state units to donate funds for the violence affected victims. Once it is collected, it will be distributed," said Mollah.
He said that the need of the hour is the rehabilitation of the victims. "We have done a survey and accordingly we will try to help the people so that they are rehabilitated...Several people have lost their houses, many have lost their source of income," Mollah added.
The communal violence that took place recently in different places of Northeast Delhi has claimed more than 53 lives while hundreds of others were left injured.
