Delhi's air quality continued to be in the "very poor" category on Wednesday as schools reopened in the national capital.
The air quality index was recorded at 324 on Tuesday morning while last night it was at 309.
However, the air quality had improved on Tuesday from the previous days giving some respite to people suffering from pollution.

Two factories, eight people fined in UP for pollution
Two factories in UP's Muzaffarnagar have been fined a total of Rs 1.25 lakh for allegedly not using anti-pollution equipment
The officials of the pollution department on Tuesday imposed a fine of Rs 75,000 on Sarvottam Rolling Mills (P) Ltd and Rs 50,000 on Amba Shakti Steels Limited, they said.
These units were found not using anti-pollution equipment during the checking conducted by a team of the pollution department, the officials added.
Meanwhile, officials led by city magistrate Atul Kumar took action against eight people and imposed fines on them for burning garbage in different places here on Tuesday evening.
The executive officer of the city board, V K Mani Tripathi, told newspersons on Wednesday that action was taken against the violators.

New Delhi: Schools have reopened on Wednesday after an extended Diwali break due to pollution with a large number of students seen using anti-pollution masks to protect them from health hazards.
While the pollution levels have gradually come down since Sunday, the AQI still remains in the 'poor' category.
On Wednesday morning, a major pollutant PM 2.5 is at 279 and PM 10 is at 250, both in 'poor' category in the Lodhi Road area, according to Air Quality Index (AQI) data.
Taking cognizance of air pollution levels in Delhi-NCR crossed "hazardous" category, Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority on Friday declared a public health emergency.
