New Delhi: Every family fighting the Covid-19 battle is an inspiration for the nation and has a unique story to share. In this hour of trying times, mental strength and family support is the key to win the battle against this pandemic.
At a time when the nation is reeling under the coronavirus crisis, tales of the struggle of families should come to the light for people to take lessons. Generally, it's not only a single person but an entire family that goes through trials and tribulations. One such example is Mukhtar Ahmed's family who have defeated coronavirus by sticking through each other in this tough phase, instilling hope that we can get out of this pandemic.
Centenarian Mukhtar Ahmed, the oldest in the country to defeat coronavirus, along with one family member had contracted the virus in May after which they were shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital. Unfortunately, the kin of the patient, who had visited him to the hospital to take a note of his situation also came under the grip of the virus.
Mukhtar's three sons, who reside in other parts of the city, used to meet him regularly. With them testing positive for the virus, trouble mounted when the report of at least eleven family members came positive. But with each other's support and stern resolve, they put up a deadly fight against the virus.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Ahmed, said, "My family stood by me and had taken care of all my necessities which helped me to fight against coronavirus. Be strong and have faith in God."
Madigan, Mukhtar's daughter, added, "My daughter and I had also tested positive for the virus but now we have recovered. Kaif, who is my sister's son, also contracted the virus but now by God's grace, we are doing fine.
She went on to add, "When Abba was discharged from the hospital, we designed a separate room for him. We took care of all his medical requirements and made sure that he is met with all his necessities. But it was his strong will power and determination that helped him fight against the virus."
Mukhtar had lost his family in 1993 and was forced to beg on the streets to earn a living. He was on the verge of losing his sanity until one day a family residing in old Delhi found him and decided to take him home. Ahmed has been living with his adopted family since then. Ahmed family's fight against the virus shows that with the support of loved ones, we can overcome this grim situation.
