Karwar (Karnataka): Eight Karnataka fishermen, who were feared drowned after their boat capsized in the Arabian sea, were rescued by the other fishermen who braved the sea to save them.
According to reports, the fishermen belonging to Malpe in Karnataka's Udupi district had ventured deep into the sea for fishing. However, their boat sank mid-sea after being hit by a strong wave due to cyclone Nisarga.
After getting information about the mishap, other fishermen of the nearest village in Goa ventured into the sea with their two boats and rescued the fishermen, reports said.
The boats repatriated all the eight fishermen to the safety of the Goa port. Two rescue boats from Goa had gone to find the capsized boat and salvage it to the shore. But their attempt did not succeed, reports added.
