Namakkal (Tamil Nadu): The public is treading with caution due to the coronavirus infection spreads worldwide. More than the infection, the scare of 'Coronavirus Spreads' is spreading rapidly among the people. Fearing their lives, the public has imposed lots of restrictions in their daily lives.
In this context, the netizens have created panic on social media, saying that eating chicken meat could cause coronavirus infection. Frightened non-vegetarian eaters have started avoiding chicken and egg from their daily menu. Meanwhile, the price of chicken and egg has fallen to an unprecedented level and those who work in the industry have lost several crores of rupees.
As a result, poultry meat vendors have been incurring huge losses from the past few days. Determined to alleviate this fear of the public, they are now undertaking various measures. As a part of this, Manikandan in Sendhamangalam in Namakkal district, a poultry dealer, is offering free chicken fry from 10 am to 6 pm.

While talking to ETV Bharat Manikandan said, “To raise public awareness that coronavirus does not spread to human beings through chicken meat, we prepare chicken fry with 100 kg chicken meat and give it to the public free of charge. In spite of losses, this will continue for three more days. "
Satiyaraj, a native of the same region as Manikandan, is also determined to raise public awareness by selling three kilos of chicken meat for just 99 rupees in his meat shop.
Speaking about this, Sathyaraj said, "To raise public awareness, chicken meat is sold at Rs. 99 per three kilograms. The meat is sold at the procurement price". He also urged the central government to take steps to raise awareness among the public.
Many locals have extended their support to these actions. Further, the crowd is swelling in both these outlets. A few days back, Namakkal police have arrested one person for spreading misinformation on the internet. Now the question remains whether the actions taken by these poultry vendors, who have suffered huge losses will witness a boom in the sale of chicken and eggs.
