City dweller Amarjyoti Kashyap has been doing terrace gardening or rooftop gardening for the last three years.

"We have not felt any problem due to vegetable scarcity during the lockdown. Even if the lockdown continues for another two months, we would not have any problem regarding the vegetables. I do organic vegetable cultivation at the rooftop of my house" Kashyap said.

Kashyap has used 500 square feet area of the terrace to grow organic vegetables. He has also been rearing fish in a specially designed tank on his terrace.

"My family is more than self-sufficient in vegetables. I grow gourd, tomato, brinjal, cucumber and many other vegetables and herbs in the terrace garden. The garden is small but the yield is good. I have also helped many of my neighbours from this kitchen garden during the lockdown period," said Kashyap.

While many people have suffered due to scarcity of commodities during the lockdown period, people like Kashyap are growing greens, despite being confined inside the house.
