As many as 204 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 6,966 while the death toll stands at 93, said Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday informed that the recovery rate among COVID-19 patients in the country has touched 58.13 per cent. "The recovered cases have exceeded the active cases by 98,493 as of today.
While the number of active cases stands at 1,97,387, the number of cured cases is 2,95,880. With this encouraging status, the recovery rate is touching 58.13 per cent amongst COVID-19 patients," said the Ministry of Health.

Even as India is battling with COVID-19 pandemic and the total number of cases crossed 5 lakh, the Central government on Saturday claimed that the total number of recovered COVID-19 cases has fast outgrown the number of active COVID-19 cases.
With India reporting to about 5,08,953 COVID-19 cases till date, the number of active cases stands at 1,97,387 and the number of cured cases is 2,95,880 as per the union health ministry data issued at 8 AM on Saturday.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Saturday said that the COVID-19 recovery rate has surged over 58 per cent in the country with around 3 lakh cured and discharged patients.
"Our recovery rate has gone above 58 per cent and out of the total five lakh confirmed patients around 3 lakh people have recovered from COVID-19. The rest are also on the road to recovery and will hopefully return to their homes safe and sound," Dr Harsh Vardhan said.
He further said that 85 per cent of the patients came from eight states and Union Territories and not just this "over 87 per cent of the unfortunate deaths due to the disease also came from these eight states."

Himachal police station sealed after three cops test positive for COVID-19
Himachal Pradesh: A police station in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district has been sealed after three policemen posted there tested positive for novel coronavirus, a district official said.
The Bhawnagar police station has been sealed after the three policemen, which include two head constables aged 26 and 32 years and a 24-year-old constable, tested positive for coronavirus, he said.

85th Covid death in Agra, 7 new cases take tally to 1,184
One more fatality took Agra's Covid-19 death toll to 85, with a total of 1,184 corona cases in the Taj city, while 991 patients have so far been discharged upon recovery, health officials said on Saturday.
The number of active cases now is 109, according to the district magistrate P.N. Singh.
The total number of samples collected so far is 20,610. Health department officials said efforts were being made to increase the daily size of samples, particularly in the 64 hotspots.
The administration is trying hard to involve the private nursing homes and clinics in its strategy to combat Covid-19. A local private laboratory has been permitted to test samples at the government rates.
With the railways announcing postponement of regular train services, a large number of people have lost their livelihood. The state roadways bus stands also look largely deserted.

COVID-19 LIVE: With 985 new COVID cases, Telangana crosses 12,000 mark
Hyderabad: In the continuing surge in coronavirus cases in Telangana, 985 people tested positive on Friday, taking the state's tally to 12,349.
With the cases reported on Friday, the state reached another new high in the daily numbers.
According to the director of public health and family welfare 4,374 samples were tested and out of them, 985 were found positive.
The state also saw seven deaths during the day, pushing the toll to 237.
The official said 78 people recovered from Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the number of recoveries so far to 4,766.
Greater Hyderabad continued to bear the brunt, accounting for 774 of the new cases. Rangareddy and Medchal districts bordering Hyderabad registered 139 cases. The remaining cases were reported from 15 districts.
Meanwhile, the head nurse of state-run Chest Hospital in Hyderabad succumbed to Covid-19 at Gandhi Hospital on Friday.
The 58-year-old, who was set to retire on June 30, was admitted to Gandhi Hospital four days ago.
Two officials working in Gandhi Hospital superintendent's office also tested positive on Friday. A nurse and another employee of the hospital also tested positive. The number of Covid cases in the hospital, a nodal facility for treatment of Covid in the state, rose to five.
