MP COVID-19 cases up by 179 to 11,903; death toll 515

Bhopal:  The COVID-19 case count in Madhya Pradesh climbed to 11,903 on Sunday with 179 new additions in the last 24 hours, including 47 from Bhopal, state Health department said.

With 14 more deaths, the number of fatalities has risen to 515 in the state.

A total of 135 persons were discharged from hospitals in the day, taking the number of the recovered cases to 9,015.

Rajasthan reports 12 COVID-19 deaths, 393 new cases

Jaipur: Rajasthan reported 12 COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, taking their number to 349 as 393 fresh cases of the infection pushed the tally in the state to 14,930.

Four deaths were reported in Jaipur, two each in Alwar, Bharatpur and Nagaur, and one fatality was registered in Ajmer, besides the death of a patient from another state, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 113 are in Dholpur, followed by 60 in Jaipur, 37 in Jodhpur, 30 in Pali, 22 in Jhunjhunu, 16 each in Bharatpur and Rajsamand, 15 in Sikar, 14 in Sirohi, 12 in Alwar and 10 in Karauli, besides cases reported from other districts of the state, an official report said here.

A total of 11,355 patients have been discharged after being cured of the disease so far and the state now has 2,984 active cases.

COVID-19: Death toll increase to 550 in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The COVID-19 death toll in Uttar Pradesh increased to 550 after 21 fatalities were reported, the state government said in a statement on Sunday. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state is 17,731.

Of the 21 COVID-19 deaths, three took place in Kanpur Nagar, two each in Meerut, Moradabad, Gorakhpur and Etawah, and one each in Ghaziabad, Hapur, Siddharthanagar, Bijnor, Mathura, Muzaffarnagar, Rae Bareli, Badaun, Jhansi and Farrukhabad, according to the statement

Till now, as many as 10,995 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease, and have been discharged, it said. `The count of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 6,186.

COVID-19: Delhi records 3,000 cases; 63 more die, say authorities

New Delhi: The national capital recorded 3,000 fresh novel coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the COVID-19 tally in the city near the 60,000-mark, while the death toll due to the disease increased to 2,175, authorities said.

It was the third day on the trot that the number of cases touched or crossed the 3,000-mark. On Saturday, Delhi had witnessed 3,630 cases, the highest single-day spike here. On Friday, the number was 3,137. 

As many as 63 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the coronavirus now stands at 2,175 and the total number of cases at 59,746, according to the latest Delhi health department bulletin.

It said as many as 33,013 patients have recovered, been discharged or migrated so far, while there are 24,558 active cases.

The bulletin said a total of 3,70,014 tests have been conducted till date, with 19,474 tests per million population.

The total number of COVID-19 positive patients under home isolation stands at 12,106 in the city, it said.

Health Minister 's condition improving; team of doctors on standby: Officials

New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain's health condition has improved after receiving the plasma therapy,Delhi Health Minister officials said on Sunday.

The 55-year-old leader's fever has subsided and oxygen level has improved. Doctors say that he can be shifted to the general ward by tomorrow.

On Friday, Jain's health deteriorated after he developed pneumonia during the ongoing treatment for COVID-19 at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality hospital.

V Hanumanth Rao tests positive for COVID-19 in Hyderabad

Senior Congress Leader and former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president V Hanumanth Rao has tested positive for COVID-19.

"After distributing blankets to sanitation workers on my birthday I started feeling sick, yesterday my swab sample was collected and later I tested positive for coronavirus."

As per the Telangana Health Department, the COVID-19 count in the state stands at 7,072 on Sunday. This includes 3,363 active cases, while 3,506 patients have been cured and discharged so far in the state. The disease has led to the death of 203 people as of today.

India's COVID-19 tally crosses 4 lakh with highest single-day spike of 15,413 cases

A record single-day spike of 15,413 new COVID-19 cases took India's infection tally past the 4 lakh-mark on Sunday, while the death toll rose to 13,254 with 306 new fatalities, according to Union Health Ministry data.

India has been registering record single-day spike for the past four days.

The jump of 15,413 cases took India's case load to 4,10,461.

The number of recoveries also continued to surge with 2,27,755 patients cured so far, while there were 1,69,451 active cases, according to the updated official figures at 8 am. One patient has migrated.

"Thus, around 55.48 per cent of the patients have recovered so far," an official said. The total number of confirmed cases includes foreigners.

India registered over 10,000 cases for the tenth day in a row.

The country has witnessed a surge of 2,19,926 infections from June 1 till 21 with Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh among the top five states that have seen a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases.

Two more corona deaths, 8 new cases in Agra

Two more deaths due to coronavirus were reported in Agra in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 75 even as eight new cases took the tally to 1,132 in the Uttar Pradesh district on Sunday.

As many as 929 patients have recovered, while 128 active cases remain in the district. Agra's recovery rate is 81.71 per cent.

Till Saturday, 18,559 samples had been collected. The total number of hot spots is 70, district officials said.

In Etah, nine new cases were reported and Firozabad five. Two patients had died in Mathura.

Meanwhile, the Mathura district administration announced cancellation of the annual Mudiya Poonau festival in Goverdhan, which attracts more than one crore devotees during the five-day 'parikrama' of the holy hill.

The state government has already indicated that the annual Kanwad yatra from Haridwar will not be permitted during the Shravan month, to contain the spread of the virus.

COVID-19 toll in Telangana 203, daily cases hit new high

Hyderabad: Five more coronavirus deaths in Telangana took its total death toll to 203 while a record 546 new cases took the total cases beyond 7K-mark to 7,072 on Saturday.

According to the Director of public health and family welfare department, Greater Hyderabad accounted for 458 new cases. The state capital remains the biggest corona hotspot in the state, recording the biggest single-day jump in cases.

Ranga Reddy district, adjoining Greater Hyderabad, reported 50 new cases. The remaining cases were reported in eight other districts.

The authorities tested 3,188 samples during the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative figure to 53,757.

The active cases in the state are 3,363 as 3,506 people have so far recovered. Of them 154 were discharged on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after the personal security officer of Telangana's lone BJP MLA Raja Singh has also tested corona positive, the MLA, his family and staff members went into quarantine. The MLA from Goshamahal in Hyderabad said they were awaiting test results.

Health Minister Eatala Rajendera's Officer on Special Duty (OSD) too has tested positive. The driver and security officer of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA Bajireddy Goverdhan have also tested positive. The MLA from Nizamabad Rural tested positive last Sunday while his wife was found infected on Thursday.

Goverdhan is one of the three TRS MLAs who have so far tested positive.

Three senior Indian Police Service officers in Hyderabad too have tested positive since Friday.

So far, over 100 police personnel have been found infected with the deadly virus. These include 15 from a police station in Hyderabad.

Two policemen have so far succumbed to the dreaded virus.

Health Minister 's condition improving; team of doctors on standby: Officials

New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain's health condition has improved after receiving the plasma therapy,Delhi Health Minister officials said on Sunday.

The 55-year-old leader's fever has subsided and oxygen level has improved. Doctors say that he can be shifted to the general ward by tomorrow.

On Friday, Jain's health deteriorated after he developed pneumonia during the ongoing treatment for COVID-19 at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality hospital.

Highest single-day spike of 304 COVID-19 cases in Odisha; two more die

Odisha registered the highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases with 304 more people testing positive for the disease, taking the total in the state to 5,160, a health department official said on Sunday.

Two more people succumbed to the virus - a septuagenarian in Bargarh and a 49-year-old man in Puri -- raising the death toll to 14.

V Hanumanth Rao tests positive for COVID-19 in Hyderabad

Senior Congress Leader and former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president V Hanumanth Rao has tested positive for COVID-19.

"After distributing blankets to sanitation workers on my birthday I started feeling sick, yesterday my swab sample was collected and later I tested positive for coronavirus."

As per the Telangana Health Department, the COVID-19 count in the state stands at 7,072 on Sunday. This includes 3,363 active cases, while 3,506 patients have been cured and discharged so far in the state. The disease has led to the death of 203 people as of today.

Union Health Ministry: Number of patients recovering from COVID-19 continues to increase

So far, 2,27,755 patients have been cured. During the last 24 hours, a total of 13,925 COVID-19 patients have been cured. The recovery rate has further improved to 55.49% amongst COVID-19 patients. India's COVID-19 tally crosses 4 lakh with highest single-day spike of 15,413 cases

A record single-day spike of 15,413 new COVID-19 cases took India's infection tally past the 4 lakh-mark on Sunday, while the death toll rose to 13,254 with 306 new fatalities, according to Union Health Ministry data.

India has been registering record single-day spike for the past four days.

The jump of 15,413 cases took India's case load to 4,10,461.

The number of recoveries also continued to surge with 2,27,755 patients cured so far, while there were 1,69,451 active cases, according to the updated official figures at 8 am. One patient has migrated.

"Thus, around 55.48 per cent of the patients have recovered so far," an official said. The total number of confirmed cases includes foreigners.

India registered over 10,000 cases for the tenth day in a row.

The country has witnessed a surge of 2,19,926 infections from June 1 till 21 with Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh among the top five states that have seen a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases.

Two more corona deaths, 8 new cases in Agra

Two more deaths due to coronavirus were reported in Agra in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 75 even as eight new cases took the tally to 1,132 in the Uttar Pradesh district on Sunday.

As many as 929 patients have recovered, while 128 active cases remain in the district. Agra's recovery rate is 81.71 per cent.

Till Saturday, 18,559 samples had been collected. The total number of hot spots is 70, district officials said.

In Etah, nine new cases were reported and Firozabad five. Two patients had died in Mathura.

Meanwhile, the Mathura district administration announced cancellation of the annual Mudiya Poonau festival in Goverdhan, which attracts more than one crore devotees during the five-day 'parikrama' of the holy hill.

The state government has already indicated that the annual Kanwad yatra from Haridwar will not be permitted during the Shravan month, to contain the spread of the virus.

COVID-19 toll in Telangana 203, daily cases hit new high

Hyderabad: Five more coronavirus deaths in Telangana took its total death toll to 203 while a record 546 new cases took the total cases beyond 7K-mark to 7,072 on Saturday.

According to the Director of public health and family welfare department, Greater Hyderabad accounted for 458 new cases. The state capital remains the biggest corona hotspot in the state, recording the biggest single-day jump in cases.

Ranga Reddy district, adjoining Greater Hyderabad, reported 50 new cases. The remaining cases were reported in eight other districts.

The authorities tested 3,188 samples during the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative figure to 53,757.

The active cases in the state are 3,363 as 3,506 people have so far recovered. Of them 154 were discharged on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after the personal security officer of Telangana's lone BJP MLA Raja Singh has also tested corona positive, the MLA, his family and staff members went into quarantine. The MLA from Goshamahal in Hyderabad said they were awaiting test results.

Health Minister Eatala Rajendera's Officer on Special Duty (OSD) too has tested positive. The driver and security officer of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA Bajireddy Goverdhan have also tested positive. The MLA from Nizamabad Rural tested positive last Sunday while his wife was found infected on Thursday.

Goverdhan is one of the three TRS MLAs who have so far tested positive.

Three senior Indian Police Service officers in Hyderabad too have tested positive since Friday.

So far, over 100 police personnel have been found infected with the deadly virus. These include 15 from a police station in Hyderabad.

Two policemen have so far succumbed to the dreaded virus.
