The discharge rate stood at 87.84 per cent with 3,110 recoveries since Saturday, the bulletin said. West Bengal now has 30,236 active cases.

The coronavirus infection count in Goa went up to 38,366 with the addition of 432 cases on Sunday, an official said. The death toll in the state crossed the 500-mark and reached 507 as eight patients succumbed to the infection, he said.

Kerala adds 9,347 fresh cases, toll climbs to 1,003 with 25 fatalities
        

Kerala's COVID-19 caseload mounted to 2,87,202 with 9,347 fresh infections on Sunday as the toll crossed the 1,000 mark with 25 fatalities, Health Minister K K Shailaja said. In the last 24 hours, as many as 61,629 samples were tested and specimens of 8,924 people returned negative, taking the total recoveries so far to 1,91,798 while 96,316 people are presently undergoing treatment, the Minister said in a press release.

Gujarat adds 1,181 new COVID-19 cases, 1,413 recover; 9 die
         

Gujarat on Sunday reported 1,181 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking its count of infections to 1,51,596, state health department said. With nine more people succumbing to the infection, the toll mounted to 3,569, it said.
         

In a good news, daily recoveries continue to outnumber fresh cases. On Sunday, a total of 1,413 patients were discharged after treatment, raising the total count of recoveries in the state to 1,32,310, it said, adding that the state's case recovery rate improved to 87.28 per cent.
         

Meanwhile, the number of tests conducted so far has crossed the 50 lakh-mark and rose to 50,12,705.

Two BJP legislators in K'taka test positive for COVID-19

Karnataka BJP legislators N Ravikumar and Raghupathi Bhat have tested positive for COVID-19. While Ravikumar is the member of state legislative
council (MLC) and Karnataka BJP General Secretary, Bhat represents the Udupi Assembly constituency.
         

Stating that his COVID-19 test was confirmed positive on Saturday, Ravikumar in a tweet said he was asymptomatic and was under home quarantine on the advice of the doctors.
         

He also requested all those who have come into contact with him to get tested and take precautions. Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat too in a tweet said, his
COVID-19 tests have confirmed positive and that he has been hospitalised under the advice of the doctors. He requested all those who have come into his contact

Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported 569 fresh COVID-19 cases and nine more deaths. The union territory's caseload has now reached 83,633 and death toll to 1,322, officials said.
         

"The UT recorded 569 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours -- with 207 in Jammu and 362 in the Kashmir valley," they said.

Udupi MLA tests positive for coronavirus
         

Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat has tested positive for coronavirus and has been admitted to a private hospital.
         

Giving the information in a tweet, Bhat said "I have tested positive for Covid-19. On the advice of doctors, I have gotten admitted to hospital. As I am under treatment, I will not be able to respond to calls from the public for a few days. Forgive me."
         

Bhat asked all those who came in contact with him in the last four to five days to take care and go into quarantine.

COVID-19 recoveries breach 7 lakh mark in AP
 

The overall number of COVID-19 recoveries in Andhra Pradesh crossed seven lakh on Sunday as the state's aggregate of confirmed positives touched 7.55
lakh. More than 75,500 sample tests were conducted in 24 hours ending 9 am on Sunday that turned out 5,210 new cases of
coronavirus disease.
 

The latest bulletin said the total number of confirmed cases touched 7,55,727.

Karnataka BJP's ex-chief Sedam tests corona positive

Former Karnataka BJP chief Basavaraj Patil Sedam has tested positive for coronavirus and admitted in hospital for treatment, a party official said on Sunday.

"Sedam has been admitted to the state-run Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences at Kalaburagi after he tested positive on Saturday," party's district President Siddaji Patil told IANS on phone.

Kalaburagi is about 630km from Bengaluru in the state's northern region.

Sedam, 76, was the party's state chief during 2000-03. He was also Rajya Sabha member from 2012-18 and Legislative Council member from 1990-96.

He is presently President of Kalyana Karnataka Human Resource, Agriculture and Cultural Society.

"As I may have caught the virus while on tour in the region, I request all those who came in contact with me recently to undergo Covid tests and take care," said Sedam in a statement in Kannada.

Tripura's COVID-19 tally rose to 28,352 on Sunday as 199 more people tested positive for the infection.

At least 239 more people, including two security personnel, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the tally to 11,998. 

Of the 239 fresh cases, 89 were reported from the Capital Complex region, Changlang (36), West Siang (34), East Siang (18), Tirap (15), Lepa Rada (8), Lohit (7) and Lower Subansiri (6), a health department official said here on Sunday.

1,717 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths in Telangana

Telangana reported 1,717 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 2,12,063 while five more deaths pushed the toll to 1,222.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 276, followed by Rangareddy (132) and Medchal Malkajgiri (131) districts, a government bulletin said, providing data as of 8 pm on October 10 The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1,85,128, while 25,713 are under treatment.

As many as 46,657 samples were tested on October 10.

Cumulatively, 35,47,051 samples have been tested.

The samples tested per million population was 95,299.

COVID-19 tally in India breaches 70-lakh mark

India's COVID-19 tally of cases raced past 70 lakh, 13days after it had crossed the 60-lakh mark, while the national recovery rate stood at 86.17 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

TheCOVID-19 caseload mountedto70,53,806with74,383infections being reported in a day.The death toll climbed to1,08,334with 918 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has crossed 60 lakh.

India's coronavirus cases jumped from 10 lakh to 20 lakh in 21 days. Then it took 16 more days to race past 30 lakh, 13 days more to cross the 40-lakh mark and 11 days to go past 50 lakh. The cases rose from 50 lakh to 60 lakh in 12 days.

It took 110days for the COVID-19 cases in the country to reach one lakh while it had taken 59 days more to go past the the10-lakh post.

For the third day in a row, the active cases of COVID-19 remained below 9 lakh.

There are8,67,496active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 12.30per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

The COVID-19casefatality rate due to the coronavirus infection was recorded at 1.54 per cent.

India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past50 lakh on September 16 and had crossed 60 lakh on September 28.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 8,68,77,242 samples have been tested up to October 10 with 10,78,544 samples being tested on Saturday.

Mizoram reports 13 new COVID-19 cases; tally rises to 2,175

At least 13 people, including two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, pushing the state's coronavirus caseload to 2,175. 

"Of the 13 fresh cases, nine were reported from Aizawl district, two from Kolasib and one cases each was reported from Serchhip and Lawngtlai districts," a health department official said on Sunday.

COVID-19 recoveries in India cross 60-Iakh mark

New Delhi: India has crossed the landmark of over 60-Lakh COVID-19 recoveries, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Sunday. The MoHFW also said that the five states which have the maximum caseload in the country have also contributed to more than half of the total recoveries.  

As per the Ministry, Maharashtra (12,29,339 recoveries), Karnataka (5,61,610), Kerala (1,75,304), Andhra Pradesh (6,91,040) and Tamil Nadu (5,91,811) are the five states, respectively. 

"India crosses the landmark milestone of more than 60 Lakh recoveries. The 5 top states with maximum caseload (61 per cent active cases) are also contributing more than half (54.3 per cent) of the total recoveries," the MoHFW's tweet read. As per the MoHFW on Saturday, with a surge of 73,272 cases, India's COVID-19 tally had reached 69,79,424.

The COVID-19 death toll in Uttar Pradesh rose to 6,394 on Sunday with 41 more fatalities, while 3,348 fresh cases pushed the infection tally in the state to 4,36,979, officials said. 
          

Briefing reporters here, Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said so far 3,90,566 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease, taking the recovery rate in the state to 89.37 per cent.

320 new COVID-19 cases in Puducherry takes tally to 31,549

The COVID-19 tally in the union territory of Puducherry rose to 31,549 with the addition of 320 new cases, while the death toll rose to 563 with four more fatalities on Sunday. 

"A total of 336 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours ending 10 AM on Sunday, taking the cumulative recoveries to 26,291 There were 4,695 active cases in the union territory," Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said

Tripura reports 199 new COVID-19 cases, 2 fatalities

Tripura's COVID-19 tally rose to 28,352 on Sunday as 199 more people tested positive for the infection.

"The COVID-19 death toll rose to 312 with two more people succumbing to the infection," a health department official said.

"West Tripura district, of which state capital Agartala is a part, has accounted for 168 of the 312 COVID-19 deaths," the official said

239 new COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh
 

At least 239 more people, including two security personnel, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the tally to 11,998. 

Of the 239 fresh cases, 89 were reported from the Capital Complex region, Changlang (36), West Siang (34), East Siang (18), Tirap (15), Lepa Rada (8), Lohit (7) and Lower Subansiri (6), a health department official said here on Sunday.

1,717 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths in Telangana

Telangana reported 1,717 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 2,12,063 while five more deaths pushed the toll to 1,222.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 276, followed by Rangareddy (132) and Medchal Malkajgiri (131) districts, a government bulletin said, providing data as of 8 pm on October 10 The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1,85,128, while 25,713 are under treatment.

As many as 46,657 samples were tested on October 10.

Cumulatively, 35,47,051 samples have been tested.

The samples tested per million population was 95,299.

COVID-19 tally in India breaches 70-lakh mark

India's COVID-19 tally of cases raced past 70 lakh, 13days after it had crossed the 60-lakh mark, while the national recovery rate stood at 86.17 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

TheCOVID-19 caseload mountedto70,53,806with74,383infections being reported in a day.The death toll climbed to1,08,334with 918 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has crossed 60 lakh.

India's coronavirus cases jumped from 10 lakh to 20 lakh in 21 days. Then it took 16 more days to race past 30 lakh, 13 days more to cross the 40-lakh mark and 11 days to go past 50 lakh. The cases rose from 50 lakh to 60 lakh in 12 days.

It took 110days for the COVID-19 cases in the country to reach one lakh while it had taken 59 days more to go past the the10-lakh post.

For the third day in a row, the active cases of COVID-19 remained below 9 lakh.

There are8,67,496active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 12.30per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

The COVID-19casefatality rate due to the coronavirus infection was recorded at 1.54 per cent.

India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past50 lakh on September 16 and had crossed 60 lakh on September 28.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 8,68,77,242 samples have been tested up to October 10 with 10,78,544 samples being tested on Saturday.

Mizoram reports 13 new COVID-19 cases; tally rises to 2,175

At least 13 people, including two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, pushing the state's coronavirus caseload to 2,175. 

"Of the 13 fresh cases, nine were reported from Aizawl district, two from Kolasib and one cases each was reported from Serchhip and Lawngtlai districts," a health department official said on Sunday.

COVID-19 recoveries in India cross 60-Iakh mark

New Delhi: India has crossed the landmark of over 60-Lakh COVID-19 recoveries, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Sunday. The MoHFW also said that the five states which have the maximum caseload in the country have also contributed to more than half of the total recoveries.  

As per the Ministry, Maharashtra (12,29,339 recoveries), Karnataka (5,61,610), Kerala (1,75,304), Andhra Pradesh (6,91,040) and Tamil Nadu (5,91,811) are the five states, respectively. 

"India crosses the landmark milestone of more than 60 Lakh recoveries. The 5 top states with maximum caseload (61 per cent active cases) are also contributing more than half (54.3 per cent) of the total recoveries," the MoHFW's tweet read. As per the MoHFW on Saturday, with a surge of 73,272 cases, India's COVID-19 tally had reached 69,79,424.
