Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday said that he has tested negative for COVID-19. He had tested positive for the virus on September 15.
Khandu, who is currently in home isolation in New Delhi, tweeted that he has tested negative for coronavirus after he conducted a repeat test on Wednesday.

UP: COVID-19 death toll climbs to 4,771; cases over 3.36 lakh
The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,771 in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday with 81 more fatalities, while 6,029 fresh cases pushed the infection tally in the state to 3,36,294, officials said.
The state now has 68,235 active COVID-19 cases and 2,63,288 people have recovered from the disease till date, Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said.
The death toll due to the virus has climbed to 4,771 and the total number of cases has risen to 3,36,294, he added.

Jharkhand's COVID-19 caseload rose to 66,074 on Thursday as 1,618 more people tested positive for the infection, while eight fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 579, a health bulletin said.
The fresh infections have taken the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state to 14,138, while 51,357 people have been cured of the disease so far, it said.
The state has tested 55,761 samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said.

Telangana reports 2,159 fresh cases; death toll breaches 1,000-mark
Telangana reported 2,159 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 1,65,003 while nine more deaths pushed the toll to 1,005, the state government said.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 318, followed by Rangareddy (176) and Nalgonda (141) districts, a government bulletin said on Thursday, providing data as of 8 pm on September 16.
The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1,33,555 while 30,443 were under treatment.
As many as 53,094 samples were tested on September 16.
Cumulatively, 23,29,316 samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 62,740, the bulletin said.
The case fatality rate in the state was 0.60 per cent, while it was 1.62 per cent at the national level.
The recovery rate in Telangana was 80.94 per cent, while it was 78.59 per cent in the country.
The number of individuals in home/institutional isolation was 23,674.

Active cases cross 1 lakh mark in Karnataka
Active Covid-19 cases crossed 1-lakh mark in Karnataka, with 9,725 new cases, taking its overall tally to 4,84,990 till date, while 6,583 were discharged and 70 succumbed to the virus across the southern state on Wednesday.
"The active cases across the state are 1,01,626, with the addition of 9,725 fresh cases during the last 24 hours," said the state health bulletin here.
The total number of patients discharged across the state has gone up to 3,75,809 so far, with 6,583 during the day.
The death toll due to the infection increased to 7,536 across the state since March 8, when the pandemic broke and spread, with 70 in the last 24 hours.

Gujarat reports 1,364 new cases; 12 deaths
Gujarat on Wednesday reported 1,364 new Covid-19 cases, taking the state's coronavirus tally to 1,17,709, while 12 fatalities in the last 24 hours took its death toll to 3,259. A total of 85,153 samples were tested on Wednesday.
The state has reported 21,274 cases in September so far, at an average of 1,329 cases per day
On a positive note, a total of 1,447 persons were discharged from different facilities on Wednesday, taking the number of recoveries in the state to 98,156.
At present, the number of active cases in the state stands at 16,294, of which the condition of 16,169 is stable, while 98 critical patients are on ventilator support.
Over 6 lakh people are quarantined in the state presently, 6,04,753 in home quarantine and 493 in government facilities.

Goa's tally crosses 26,000 with 319 deaths
Goa's overall Covid-19 tally crossed the 26,000-mark on Wednesday, with 628 new cases reported in the state, which has also witnessed 319 deaths of novel coronavirus patients.
Goa currently has recorded 26,139 confirmed cases, out of which 5,375 are active. 20,445 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the viral infection, with the state's recovery rate currently pegged at 78.21 per cent according to state Health Ministry data.

35 armed forces men lost battle against Covid-19
A total of 32 Indian Army personnel and three Indian Air Force men succumbed to the deadly coronavirus, Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik said in the Parliament on Wednesday.
"The number of deceased due to Covid-19 in Army and Air Force are 32 and 3, respectively, and 'NIL' in case of Navy," Naik said in a reply to Congress MP Anumula Revanth Reddy in Lok Sabha.
The minister also said that the number of Covid-19 cases in the Army, Navy and Air Force stands to 16,758, 1,365 and 1,716, respectively

Andhra recoveries continue to outnumber cases
Andhra Pradesh has registered 8,835 new COVID positive cases, increasing the state's tally to 5.92 lakh, even as 10,845 more patients recovered from the virus to outnumber infections on Wednesday.
With the new additions, the state tally is just 8,000 cases shy of the 6 lakh mark.
East Godavari district reported the highest number of infections with 1,421 cases, followed by West Godavari (1,051), Prakasam (873), Chittoor (798), Guntur (685) and Nellore (562) among others.
East Godavari district tally crossed the 80,000 marks to reach 81,064 cases.
Meanwhile, 64 more patients succumbed to the virus in the southern state, raising the state's toll to 5,105.
However, on a positive note, COVID recoveries continue to increase in Andhra Pradesh, propelling the total recoveries to reach 4.97 lakh, just 3,000 short of the 5 lakh mark.
Of the 5.92 lakh cases, 90,279 are active cases.

1,590 new cases take J&K's tally to 58,244
Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 1,590 new Covid-19 cases, taking the Union Territory's coronavirus tally to 58,244, while 18 deaths in the last 24 hours mounted the UT's COVID death toll to 932.
A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations department said that of the 18 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, 11 were from Jammu division and 7 from Kashmir division. Of the 1,590 new cases, 832 were from Jammu division and 758 from Kashmir division.
So far, 58,244 have been infected by coronavirus in the UT out of which 932 have died while 37,809 persons have recovered completely.
There are 19,503 active cases in J&K at present, out of which 10,954 are in Jammu division and 8,549 in Kashmir division.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari tests positive
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday said that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and has self-isolated himself.
Gadkari took to Twitter and said, "Yesterday, I was feeling weak and consulted my Doctor. During the course of my check-up, I have been tested Covid-19 positive. I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I have isolated myself."

New Delhi: A record single-day increase of 97,894 infections pushed India'sCOVID-19 tally to over 51 lakh, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease crossed 40 lakh on Thursday, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The total coronavirus cases mounted to51,18,253, while the death toll climbed to 83,198 with the virus claiming 1,132 lives in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The total recoveries surged to 40,25,079 while the active cases of COVID-19 crossed 10 lakh for the first time.
The COVID-19casefatality rate due to the coronavirus infection was recorded at 1.63 per cent.
There are10,09,976active cases of COVID-19 in the country which comprises 19.73 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and it went past50 lakh on September 16.
According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 6,05,65,728 samples have been tested up to September 16 with 11,36,613 samples being tested on Wednesday.

Jharkhand's COVID-19 caseload rose to 66,074 on Thursday as 1,618 more people tested positive for the infection, while eight fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 579, a health bulletin said.
The fresh infections have taken the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state to 14,138, while 51,357 people have been cured of the disease so far, it said.
The state has tested 55,761 samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said.

Telangana reports 2,159 fresh cases; death toll breaches 1,000-mark
Telangana reported 2,159 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 1,65,003 while nine more deaths pushed the toll to 1,005, the state government said.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 318, followed by Rangareddy (176) and Nalgonda (141) districts, a government bulletin said on Thursday, providing data as of 8 pm on September 16.
The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1,33,555 while 30,443 were under treatment.
As many as 53,094 samples were tested on September 16.
Cumulatively, 23,29,316 samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 62,740, the bulletin said.
The case fatality rate in the state was 0.60 per cent, while it was 1.62 per cent at the national level.
The recovery rate in Telangana was 80.94 per cent, while it was 78.59 per cent in the country.
The number of individuals in home/institutional isolation was 23,674.

Active cases cross 1 lakh mark in Karnataka
Active Covid-19 cases crossed 1-lakh mark in Karnataka, with 9,725 new cases, taking its overall tally to 4,84,990 till date, while 6,583 were discharged and 70 succumbed to the virus across the southern state on Wednesday.
"The active cases across the state are 1,01,626, with the addition of 9,725 fresh cases during the last 24 hours," said the state health bulletin here.
The total number of patients discharged across the state has gone up to 3,75,809 so far, with 6,583 during the day.
The death toll due to the infection increased to 7,536 across the state since March 8, when the pandemic broke and spread, with 70 in the last 24 hours.

Gujarat reports 1,364 new cases; 12 deaths
Gujarat on Wednesday reported 1,364 new Covid-19 cases, taking the state's coronavirus tally to 1,17,709, while 12 fatalities in the last 24 hours took its death toll to 3,259. A total of 85,153 samples were tested on Wednesday.
The state has reported 21,274 cases in September so far, at an average of 1,329 cases per day
On a positive note, a total of 1,447 persons were discharged from different facilities on Wednesday, taking the number of recoveries in the state to 98,156.
At present, the number of active cases in the state stands at 16,294, of which the condition of 16,169 is stable, while 98 critical patients are on ventilator support.
Over 6 lakh people are quarantined in the state presently, 6,04,753 in home quarantine and 493 in government facilities.

Goa's tally crosses 26,000 with 319 deaths
Goa's overall Covid-19 tally crossed the 26,000-mark on Wednesday, with 628 new cases reported in the state, which has also witnessed 319 deaths of novel coronavirus patients.
Goa currently has recorded 26,139 confirmed cases, out of which 5,375 are active. 20,445 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the viral infection, with the state's recovery rate currently pegged at 78.21 per cent according to state Health Ministry data.

35 armed forces men lost battle against Covid-19
A total of 32 Indian Army personnel and three Indian Air Force men succumbed to the deadly coronavirus, Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik said in the Parliament on Wednesday.
"The number of deceased due to Covid-19 in Army and Air Force are 32 and 3, respectively, and 'NIL' in case of Navy," Naik said in a reply to Congress MP Anumula Revanth Reddy in Lok Sabha.
The minister also said that the number of Covid-19 cases in the Army, Navy and Air Force stands to 16,758, 1,365 and 1,716, respectively

Andhra recoveries continue to outnumber cases
Andhra Pradesh has registered 8,835 new COVID positive cases, increasing the state's tally to 5.92 lakh, even as 10,845 more patients recovered from the virus to outnumber infections on Wednesday.
With the new additions, the state tally is just 8,000 cases shy of the 6 lakh mark.
East Godavari district reported the highest number of infections with 1,421 cases, followed by West Godavari (1,051), Prakasam (873), Chittoor (798), Guntur (685) and Nellore (562) among others.
East Godavari district tally crossed the 80,000 marks to reach 81,064 cases.
Meanwhile, 64 more patients succumbed to the virus in the southern state, raising the state's toll to 5,105.
However, on a positive note, COVID recoveries continue to increase in Andhra Pradesh, propelling the total recoveries to reach 4.97 lakh, just 3,000 short of the 5 lakh mark.
Of the 5.92 lakh cases, 90,279 are active cases.

1,590 new cases take J&K's tally to 58,244
Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 1,590 new Covid-19 cases, taking the Union Territory's coronavirus tally to 58,244, while 18 deaths in the last 24 hours mounted the UT's COVID death toll to 932.
A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations department said that of the 18 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, 11 were from Jammu division and 7 from Kashmir division. Of the 1,590 new cases, 832 were from Jammu division and 758 from Kashmir division.
So far, 58,244 have been infected by coronavirus in the UT out of which 932 have died while 37,809 persons have recovered completely.
There are 19,503 active cases in J&K at present, out of which 10,954 are in Jammu division and 8,549 in Kashmir division.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari tests positive
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday said that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and has self-isolated himself.
Gadkari took to Twitter and said, "Yesterday, I was feeling weak and consulted my Doctor. During the course of my check-up, I have been tested Covid-19 positive. I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I have isolated myself."
Gadkari urged people who had came in contact with him recently, to be careful and follow the COVID protocol.

COVID-19 LIVE: Record 97,894 infections pushes India's COVID-19 tally to over 51 lakh
New Delhi: A record single-day increase of 97,894 infections pushed India'sCOVID-19 tally to over 51 lakh, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease crossed 40 lakh on Thursday, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The total coronavirus cases mounted to51,18,253, while the death toll climbed to 83,198 with the virus claiming 1,132 lives in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The total recoveries surged to 40,25,079 while the active cases of COVID-19 crossed 10 lakh for the first time.
The COVID-19casefatality rate due to the coronavirus infection was recorded at 1.63 per cent.
There are10,09,976active cases of COVID-19 in the country which comprises 19.73 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and it went past50 lakh on September 16.
According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 6,05,65,728 samples have been tested up to September 16 with 11,36,613 samples being tested on Wednesday.
