Odisha reports 1,474 new COVID-19 cases, 12 fresh fatalities

Odisha's COVID-19 caseload mounted to 2,95,889 on Wednesday as 1,474 more people tested positive for the infection, while 12 fresh fatalities pushed the coronavirus death toll to 1,364, a health department official said.

As many as 855 new cases were reported in quarantine centres, while 619 infections were detected during contact tracing, he said.

Two-month-old baby among 101 new COVID-19 patients in Mizoram

At least 101 more people, including a two-month-old baby, tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram on Wednesday, taking the tally in the northeastern state to 2,893, a health department official said.

Of the new cases, 71 were reported from Aizawl district and 30 from Champhai, he said.

Arunachal reports 85 new COVID-19 cases, 4 more deaths

 Four more persons died of COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the toll to 42, while the caseload rose to 15,083 with 85 people testing positive for the infection on Wednesday, a senior official said.

Three succumbed to the infection at a dedicated COVID hospital here on Tuesday and one at a military hospital in West Kameng, Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

India tests 12,09,609 samples on Nov 4

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 11,29,98,959 samples have been tested so far with 12,09,609 samples being tested on Tuesday.

There are 5,33,787 active cases in the country as on date which comprise 6.42 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

The COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7,30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28,70 lakh on October 11 and crossed 80 lakh on October 29.

India's COVID-19 caseload went past83 lakh, while the number of recoveries surged to 76.56 lakh, pushing the national recovery rate to over 92 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry's data updated on Wednesday.

With 46,253 fresh infections, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country mounted to 83,13,876, while the death toll rose to 1,23,611 after 514 more fatalities were reported, the data updated at 8 am showed.

A total of 76,56,478 people have recuperated from the infection so far, pushing the national recovery rate to 92.09 per cent, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.49 per cent.

1,637 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths in Telangana

Telangana reported 1,637 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to2,44,143 while six more deaths pushed the toll to 1,357, the state government said on Wednesday.

The number of active cases was 18,100, while as many as 15,335 were in home or institutional quarantine, a bulletin said, providing data as of 8 PM on November 3.

Jharkhand's COVID-19 tally mounted to 1,02,887 as 397 more people tested positive for the infection, a health department official said on Wednesday.

The death toll rose to 891 after five more patients succumbed to the disease, he said.

Of the fresh fatalities, two each were reported from Ranchi and East Singhbhum and one from West Singhbhum, the official said.

Ranchi district registered the maximum number of new cases at 108, followed by East Singhbhum at 76, Dhanbad at 39 and Bokaro at 27.

Jharkhand now has 5,021 active coronavirus cases, while 96,975 people have been cured of the disease so far, the official said.

The state has tested 25,813 samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, he added.
