Coronavirus cases surge to 2792 in Telangana

Telangana on Monday reported 94 coronavirus positive cases and six fatalities, taking the overall number of positive cases to 2792 and the number of Covid-19 deaths to 88, according to the Covid-19 health bulletin released by the health authorities.

Out of the 94 coronavirus positive patients, 79 persons have tested positive from areas under GHMC, three persons each from Rangareddy and Medchal, two persons each from Medak, Nalgonda and Sangareddy districts while one person each tested positive from Mahabubabad, Jangaon and Peddapalli. For the first time

since the travel restrictions were eased, not a single migrant has tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

The health authorities have also discharged 63 Covid-19 patients, who have recovered at Gandhi Hospital, taking the total number of discharges so far to 1491. At present, there are 1213 active coronavirus positive patients who are admitted to Gandhi Hospital and District Hospital in King Koti

So far, since the first coronavirus positive was detected on March 2, the health authorities have detected 2792 positive cases and treated and discharged 1491 patients with a recovery rate of 53 per cent. The total number of active cases is 1213 while the number of fatalities is at 88.

16 people test COVID-19 positive under 8 batches of pooled testing in J-K's Doda, to be resampled

Eight batches of people have tested positive in Doda on Monday under a system of batch testing/pooled testing. According to the district administration, however, these 16 people will have to be resampled.

A system of batch testing/pooled testing is undergoing here wherein nasopharyngeal swabs of two people are collected in one tube.

This means that two people undergo only one test and this is done to increase the scope of testing.

Eight batches tested positive from Doda today which implies that 16 persons will have to be resampled. The District Administration has advised those who have tested positive to exercise caution. Fourteen of these 16 belong to Bhaderwah and two are from Gundoh.

Other than this, seven drivers were confirmed positive for COVID-19 today in District Doda.

Random sampling was started by the administration last month which led to the discovery of seven truck drivers four of whom belong to District Kishtwar and three belong to Dessa, Assar and Beoli areas of District Doda.

Their samples were randomly taken last week and all three have been quarantined and contact tracing of all cases is underway.

With highest spike of 8,392 cases, India's COVID-19 tally reaches 1,90,535

India's COVID-19 tally on Monday witnessed its highest-ever spike of 8,392 cases, while 230 more deaths related to the infection were also reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 1,90,535 including 93,322 active cases, 91,819 cured/discharged/migrated and 5,394 deaths.

COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra continue to soar with the number reaching 67,655. Tamil Nadu's coronavirus count stands at 22,333 while cases in Delhi the number has reached 19,844.

Unlock 1: Vehicular traffic eases at Delhi-Gurugram road after Haryana reopens border

Haryana Government has allowed inter-state and inter-district travel from Gurugram-Delhi border from June 01.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on May 31, after the centre issued guidelines allowing inter-state and intra-state movement of goods and persons.

14-days quarantine mandatory for returnees in Manipur

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday said that all people coming to the state from other states are required to stay in institutional quarantine for 14 days.

"The number of COVID-19 cases is going up as returnees are testing positive in Manipur. All incoming people from other states are required to remain in institutional quarantine for 14 days," said Singh.

When asked about the attack on a special train, ferrying stranded people from Goa to Manipur, the Chief Minister said he is glad that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal intervened.

Patna: With 131 new COVID-19 cases, the count in Bihar reached 3,807 on May 31, according to the state Health Department.

The Department added that it was trying to ascertain the trail of infection of the patients.

Meanwhile, the state transport department has authorised the plying of public transport vehicles in the state from today.

The decision was taken in the meeting of the crisis management group.

According to this, the plying of taxis (including Ola, Uber), e-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws has been allowed all across the state except in containment zones.

The plying of buses, and all other vehicles will take place on the basis of 'one seat, one person' rule.

Odisha registered its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases on Monday with 156 new infections, taking the state's tally to 2,104, a Health department official said.

16 people test COVID-19 positive under 8 batches of pooled testing in J-K's Doda, to be resampled

Eight batches of people have tested positive in Doda on Monday under a system of batch testing/pooled testing. According to the district administration, however, these 16 people will have to be resampled.

A system of batch testing/pooled testing is undergoing here wherein nasopharyngeal swabs of two people are collected in one tube.

This means that two people undergo only one test and this is done to increase the scope of testing.

Eight batches tested positive from Doda today which implies that 16 persons will have to be resampled. The District Administration has advised those who have tested positive to exercise caution. Fourteen of these 16 belong to Bhaderwah and two are from Gundoh.

Other than this, seven drivers were confirmed positive for COVID-19 today in District Doda.

Random sampling was started by the administration last month which led to the discovery of seven truck drivers four of whom belong to District Kishtwar and three belong to Dessa, Assar and Beoli areas of District Doda.

Their samples were randomly taken last week and all three have been quarantined and contact tracing of all cases is underway.

Assam has reported 22 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of infected to 1,361, Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday.

Fourteen fresh cases were reported from Dibrugarh district, four from Dhemaji, three from Tinsukia and one from Charaideo, he said.

With highest spike of 8,392 cases, India's COVID-19 tally reaches 1,90,535

India's COVID-19 tally on Monday witnessed its highest-ever spike of 8,392 cases, while 230 more deaths related to the infection were also reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 1,90,535 including 93,322 active cases, 91,819 cured/discharged/migrated and 5,394 deaths.

COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra continue to soar with the number reaching 67,655. Tamil Nadu's coronavirus count stands at 22,333 while cases in Delhi the number has reached 19,844.

Unlock 1: Vehicular traffic eases at Delhi-Gurugram road after Haryana reopens border

Haryana Government has allowed inter-state and inter-district travel from Gurugram-Delhi border from June 01.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on May 31, after the centre issued guidelines allowing inter-state and intra-state movement of goods and persons.

Earlier, state Home Minister Anil Vij announced sealing of Delhi-Haryana border due to coronavirus pandemic.

The central government is opening up economic activities across country in phased manner with Unlock 1 being in place currently.

No economic activity will resume in containment zones except essential services.

14-days quarantine mandatory for returnees in Manipur

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday said that all people coming to the state from other states are required to stay in institutional quarantine for 14 days.

"The number of COVID-19 cases is going up as returnees are testing positive in Manipur. All incoming people from other states are required to remain in institutional quarantine for 14 days," said Singh.

When asked about the attack on a special train, ferrying stranded people from Goa to Manipur, the Chief Minister said he is glad that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal intervened.

COVID-19 LIVE: 2,361 new cases reported in Maharashtra; total cases surge to 70,013

Patna: With 131 new COVID-19 cases, the count in Bihar reached 3,807 on May 31, according to the state Health Department.

The Department added that it was trying to ascertain the trail of infection of the patients.

Meanwhile, the state transport department has authorised the plying of public transport vehicles in the state from today.

The decision was taken in the meeting of the crisis management group.

According to this, the plying of taxis (including Ola, Uber), e-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws has been allowed all across the state except in containment zones.

The plying of buses, and all other vehicles will take place on the basis of 'one seat, one person' rule.
