Ranikhet (Uttarakhand): Setting an example of undeviating loyalty to his work, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Abhay Pratap Singh, preferred his duty over his marriage in the time of lockdown.

Posted in Ranikhet, Abhay Pratap Singh’s marriage was fixed for April 26 in Lucknow. But he postponed his marriage to remain on duty to serve in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

SDM Abhay Pratap Singh’s would-be bride is a doctor. Abhay is posted in Ranikhet and is assigned to look after the campaign against coronavirus.

It is worth mentioning here that the administration has sealed the Qureshi Mohalla, Sudamapuri and Lower Khadi Bazar of Ranikhet after a person who had participated in the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Nizamuddin Markaz was tested positive for coronavirus on April 5. However, it is a matter of great relief that now the Jamaat member has tested negative and is under home quarantine.

But, this has increased the responsibility of SDM Abhay Pratap Singh as he leads the health team that daily inspects the health conditions of people living in the sealed localities of Ranikhet. The administration is maintaining a constant vigil over the people residing in the sealed localities.

District magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauria has praised Abhay Pratap Singh for showing an exemplary commitment to his duty during this difficult and challenging time and has been citing his case as an example for other government officials.
