Bhagalpur (Bihar): The family of late Lal Babu Kanti is a living proof of the negligence of the officers in Bhagalpur, Bihar, who have been lying under the open sky on the premises of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College for the last 18 hours. There has been no arrangement made for their food, drink and accommodation.
50-year-old Lal Babu Kanti, who was returning with his family from Pavi, Gujarat, died on the train. He was unloaded at Bhagalpur and his body was brought to Jawaharlal Medical College. Afterwards his family was left on the premises of the medical college.
The negligence of government officials does not end there. Instead of placing the body in a freezer or on ice, his body has been left outside under the open sky.

Lal Babu Kanti's family said that they had boarded the train in Pavi, Gujarat on the 22nd. And the train reached Bhagalpur with a delay of 22 hours from the scheduled time. There was no arrangement of water or food in the train. Nor was there any electricity or fans. Lal Babu Kanti died near Abhaypur due to suffocation due to heat.
The family of Lal Babu Kanti also alleged that the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) had taken Rs. 800 for children's tickets on the way. The late Lal Babu Kanti has three daughters and a son. At the time of writing this report, the autopsy of Babu Kanti was not done and no coronavirus report of the deceased. The government's attitude towards Lal Babu Kanti's family suggests that the government system has failed at every level.
