New Delhi: Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday handed over the letters of appreciation issued by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the 68 bravehearts of Air India team that conducted an evacuation operation for the Indians stranded in Coronavirus-hit Wuhan.
Appreciating the team's effort at a ceremony in New Delhi, Puri said, "We are proud of the intensive commitment shown by the Air India team to bring home their countrymen in spite of very trying conditions in the epidemic-hit Wuhan."
Talking to ETV Bharat on Air India's disinvestment process, Hardeep Singh Puri said, "There will be no problem in Air India divestment this time."
Puri said that the government wants Air India to keep flying as a brand for years to come.
A total of 647 Indians, as well 7 Maldivians, were evacuated from Wuhan-the epicentre of the novel coronavirus. The operation was led by Captain Amitabh Singh, Director Operations, Air India with other 68 members of Air India.
