Patna(Bihar): RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday met Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and urged him to convene a special session of the assembly on law and order and other pressing issues, shortly after he was stopped by police from going to Gopalganj district in a massive procession.
The police personnel, who thwarted his attempt to proceed towards Gopalganj, took exception to RJD workers flouting social distancing norms.
Earlier, a high drama unfolded outside the residence of former chief minister Rabri Devi which Tejashwi Yadav shares with her and where he had summoned party workers including all members of the legislature to join him in the march towards Gopalganj.
It is to be noted that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was stopped on his way to Gopalganj, amid the lockdown. "They are not arresting criminals," he said, "but they are stopping us from going to meet the victim's family (of Gopalganj firing incident)."
Yadav had dared that if the state government failed to arrest the accused, he will march towards Gopalganj to meet the family of the victims.

Yadav had earlier demanded action against JD(U) leader Amrendra Kumar Pandey alias Pappu Pandey for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident, which left three people dead and one CPI-ML leader injured in Gopalganj district.
Tension had gripped Gopalganj after parents and brother of local RJD leader JP Yadav were shot dead. According to sources, some unidentified miscreants had attacked JP Yadav's home in Gopalganj. Yadav's parents and brothers were shot dead but he somehow he managed to escape, sustaining injuries.
An FIR was lodged at Hathua in which JP Yadav had accused JDU MLA Amrendra Pandey, his brother Satish Pandey, Satish’s son Mukesh Pandey, Bateshwar Pandey and one unknown person, in his statement of attacking his family.
Cops have arrested Satish Pandey and his son Mukesh Pandey who is the Zila Parishad Chairman. It is suspected that Gopalganj incident is a fallout of a political rivalry.
