New Delhi: The Congress's Women Wing on Thursday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of not taking any action against Unnao rape case accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar for two years and asked why the "beti bachao beti padhao gang" (save the girl, educate the girl) was silent on the issue.

Faced with massive public outrage, the BJP on Thursday expelled its jailed MLA, accused of raping a minor girl from Unnao and threatening her family.

"The family members of the victim are extremely fearful of what has happened to them. They fear for their life, that is what they wrote in the letter to the Chief Justice of India. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a mockery of women's security," All India Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev said.

She also attacked BJP Chief Amit Shah for allegedly not taking any action against Sengar for two years.

"It is sad that the 'beti bachao beti padhao gang' is silent over the issue. Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani is an MP from Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister himself is an MP from the state. But they are silent. This is selective outrage on women's issues," Dev added.

The 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' is a central scheme aimed at addressing declining child sex ratio and issues of women empowerment.

The Supreme Court has ordered transferring all five cases registered in connection with the Unnao rape incident from a court in Uttar Pradesh to a court in the national capital.

राष्ट्रीय महिला कांग्रेस की अध्यक्ष सुष्मिता देव ने मोदी सरकार पर सवाल करते हुए कहा किस सरकार ने बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ का नारा दिया. वह सरकार उन्नाव की बेटी के ऊपर हुए इतनी बड़ी अत्याचार पर चुप रही सुष्मिता देव ने महिला एवं बाल कल्याण मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी पर कटाक्ष करते हुए सवाल किया यही स्मृति ईरानी निर्भया केस में तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह को चूड़ियां भेजी थी. आज किसे चूड़ियां भेजेंगे.

हो. महिलाओं के हित की बड़ी-बड़ी बातें करता हो. तीन तलाक पर कानून लाता हो .वह सरकार अपने विधायक द्वारा महिला के ऊपर किए गए अत्याचार पर मौन है! सुष्मिता देव ने भाजपा पर आरोप लगाया कि बलात्कार की और पीड़िता के पूरे परिवार की हत्या करवाने वाले विधायक को पार्टी से तब निलंबित किया गया. जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कार्रवाई की जबकि पार्टी ने इससे पहले यह झूठ बोला था कि विधायक सिंगर पर कार्रवाई की गई सुष्मिता देव ने कहा देश के सामने साफ हो गया कि महिला सशक्तिकरण मुस्लिम महिलाओं के लिए तीन तलाक के नाम पर महिलाओं के हित की बात करने वाली सरकार उन्नाव जैसी वीभत्स घटना के बाद कैसे मौन है .कांग्रेस ने उन्नाव केस पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा लिए गए सत्संग ज्ञान पर खुशी जाहिर करते हुए कहा कि उम्मीद की जानी चाहिए कि मामला जब दिल्ली की अदालत में होगा तो पीड़िता को जल्द से जल्द न्याय मिल पाएगा लेकिन एक सवाल सरकार के ऊपर बना रह गया की बेटियों की हित की बात करने वाली सरकार सिर्फ ढकोसला बातें करती है. जमीन पर इस सरकार की नीयत क्या है उसकी करनी क्या है वह साफ दिखती है.₩
