Reacting on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Shergill said, "Congress party fully understands that the nation is aggrieved by the divisive, illegal and unconstitutional law called CAA. We hope to get justice from the Honorable Supreme Court. Congress party also hopes that the Centre attempts to explain the logic and the rationale behind changing the criteria of citizenship from land-based to religion. We are also concerned about protesting youngsters, students, women all across the country."
