New Delhi: As a part of its public outreach program, the Indian National Congress (INC) launched its Lok Sabha poll campaign slogan 'Ab Hoga NYAY' (now, there will be justice), on Sunday.
The slogan is based on 'Nyuntam Aya Yojana' (NYAY) or minimum income scheme guaranteed by the Congress if it came to power after the general elections. Anand Sharma, chairman of Congress publicity committee, stated that slogan would help the party reach out to the public.
Keeping Congress president Rahul Gandhi at its core, the visual elements in the campaign are from his interactions over the past few years with people from all walks of life.
"Simplicity, genuineness and honesty, as opposed to hollow, empty slogans and fake promises, is the approach the Congress publicity campaign takes," he said.
"Our publicity campaign during the election is simple and we are trying to live up to the expectations of the people," he added.
Speaking about the idea behind the slogan, the Congress leader said that every citizen of the country wanted justice. He reiterated the employment promise given by his party and stated the youth of the nation wanted better opportunities.
The campaign focused on justice for the poor, unemployed youth, farmers, women, Dalits, tribals and businessmen hit by the goods and services tax (GST), he said.
