Speaking to ETV Bharat, Amrita Dhawan said, "The situation in our country is worrisome as atrocities against women and Dalits are increasing day by day. The policies and intentions of the BJP Government are at question. We just want that the kind of governance they are having in the country where institutions are working under political pressure and women issues are getting sidelined, should be stopped."

IYC President Srinivas BV said, "The fight against this anti-Dalit and anti-women government will continue. Today, especially in BJP-ruled states, Dalit oppression and atrocities on women are increasing day by day. BJP governments have completely failed to stop this. Wherever women and Dalits have been tortured in the country, Congress leadership has raised its voice, as recently in Hathras a strong fight was fought for the justice of the country's daughters."

IYC Media in-charge Rahul Rao slammed the central government for not raising the issues related to women harassment, saying, "BJP can raise the issue of a journalist who has been arrested on the charges of abetment to suicide, but they never utter a word when atrocities happen on Dalits or on women."

The Congress is repeatedly targeting BJP's Central as well as state governments on the issue. The opposition party had even demanded the immediate resignation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after the Hathras incident, alleging that he has failed in maintaining the law and order situation in the state.
