New Delhi: The Congress on Monday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his speech in the Rajya Sabha, claiming that no solution was provided for the ongoing farmers' stir. The party also said that the Prime Minister's address was 'misleading'.
Speaking to the media, Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge said, "There was no substance in PM Modi's speech in Rajya Sabha. He overlooked Congress' proposal on what lacks in the three farm laws. He rejected concerns of farmers. These farmers are also graduates and some are even scientists. But PM says nobody knows anything. Are we all fools?"
Meanwhile, Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil said: "Today, the PM's speech was being awaited even at the international level as many protesters have lost their lives. Therefore, it was being expected that a solution will come out today. There were high expectations from the PM. But it is really unfortunate that such statements were made from the post of a Prime Minister. Today, the PM has betrayed the entire country."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister delivered a speech in the Rajya Sabha during his response to the Motion of Thanks to President Ram Nath Kovind's address, in which he made several jibes at the Opposition parties, including Congress.

During his speech, PM Modi also reiterated that the system of Minimum Support Price (MSP) will always be there saying, "MSP hai, tha aur rahega (MSP was, is, and will be there)."
"This Government is not able to understand the depth of these protests. Ignoring the difference in culture, language, religion, these farmers have reached at the doorstep of the Centre but it is really unfortunate that the government has neglected their struggle. We are very much disappointed with the PM's speech today," said Congress MP Deepender Hooda.
"It was just another political speech of the PM. We could have boycotted his address but we were hoping that maybe today the PM will repeal the three farm laws. The same PM, because of whom the entire country is having issues like the falling GDP growth, clashes at Galwan Valley, protesting farmers, is asking the opposition to be a part of solution rather than being part of the problem," Congress leader Naseer Hussain said.

"We would extend our support if he will try to find a solution to these problems," he added.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said that there exists a new 'FDI' these days, which is 'foreign destructive ideology'.
Replying to his comments, former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh attacked the PM in his tweet, saying, "In Parliament today, PM Modi said that FDI is also 'Foreign Destructive Ideology'. This from someone whose governance has been based solely on FDI — Fear, Deception, Intimidation."
