New Delhi: National spokesperson of the Indian National Congress, Priyanka Chaturvedi on Friday mocked union minister Smriti Irani's educational qualification and said that the kind of degrees and certificates that Irani was producing was only possible in the Modi government.
"A new serial is going to come soon- 'Kyunki Mantri Bhi Kabhi Graduate Thi'. Its opening line will be- Qualifications ke bhi roop badalte hain, naye-naye sanche mein dhalte hain, ek degree aati hai, ek degree jaati hai, bante affidavit naye hain," she sang while addressing a press conference.
Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani, who is contesting against Congress President Rahul Gandhi, filed her nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections on Thursday.
She was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In her affidavit, Irani said that she passed secondary school examination in 1991 and senior secondary school examination in 1993.
She also declared that she did not complete her Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University's School of Open Learning in 1994.
In her affidavit for the 2014 polls, she had said that she graduated in 1994, triggering a row over, with opposition parties alleging she was not a graduate.
Smriti Irani will be contesting against Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, a constituency that she has already lost twice.
