New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid took a jibe at Union minister General V K Singh for his mosquito metaphor on the Balakot strike row.
Speaking to ETV Bharat Khurshid said, "General Singh gives such a statement as he fails to remember sometimes that he is out of his Army life and is a civilian. While giving such controversial statements he speaks the language of an Army person."
He said, "Congress will ask for votes for the genuine issues. We are not going to debate on casualty figures in the Balakot air strikes."
"In such a crucial time when there is a critical situation at the border, it's necessary to show unity instead of showing our differences to the enemy, "he further added.
Commenting on being trolled on his remarks about Abhinandan, he said, "I just said that I am proud that Abhinandan got wings during UPA government tenure. At the same time, General V K Singh was Chief of Army staff, this is a fact, now will the people troll me?"
General Singh tweeted on Wednesday, "There were too many mosquitoes at 3.30 in the night. So, I used HIT. Now should I count how many mosquitoes were killed or sleep peacefully." This comes when the opposition was asking the government to reveal the official death count in the Balakot air strike.
