"The Chinese are always on the hunt to capture our land. In fact, they get the opportunity when Indian people leave the border areas in search of better living," said Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao.

The BJP leader said that the Centre should give relaxation in its Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme as far as Arunachal Pradesh is concerned.

"There are many places along the border areas where the population is very thin. When the people of those areas don't get various government schemes they leave their places and move towards town," he said.

Gao said that he will also raise the issue of communications and air connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh.

"Even the capital of the state is not connected by air. We have helipad facility at Pasighat, but we need a full-fledged airport in the state," said Gao.

Gao further believes that the central government would take steps to resume work on the 2000 MW lower Subansiri hydro-power project.

The works for this mega national project was halted for last several years following protests by different organisations like Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS).

"The previous Government had already taken steps in this direction. And this time I believe the work will definitely start," said Gao.
