New Delhi: Accusing China of deliberately putting hurdles before India at international platforms, veteran journalist and Observer Research Foundation's Vice President Gautam Chikermane claimed that China is so hateful of India that it's willing to embrace a terror state like Pakistan.

Interview of Gautam Chikermane

Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat Gautam said, "China's tactics to back Pakistan might benefit it in the short term but won't be of any use in the future if it plans to become a global superpower".

He also added that China continues to reap economic benefits out of India but remains hostile towards it whenever a geo-political situation arises.

Denouncing India's growing proximity with the U.S as the prime reason behind China's India stand, the foreign policy expert went hammer and tongs on its Belt and Road Initiative.

He said, "China's Belt and Road Initiative flows through Indian territory which now lies in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. It is breaching sovereignty of India. It is completely unacceptable to any nation in the world. For China to expect that India will accept this assault on its sovereignty is being stupid."

Talking about alternatives before India to face exponentially growing Chinese influence in the region, the ORF VP asserted, "First, India needs to get itshouse in order. Even today, more than 25 years after liberalisation, India continuous to look at its entrepreneur with suspicion. It doesn't give them freedom to grow.'

He claimed that India needs to pinpoint its focus towards three pivotal issues that require reform. They are infrastructure, labour law and land acquisition.
