New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Saturday said that arguments regarding change in land use of plot number 1 of the Central Vista Project will be taken up at a later stage as the government has not decided over it.

However, the apex court asked the government to reply on matters related to plot 2 and 8 by September 1, when it is scheduled to hear the case again.

The bench led by Justice AM Khanwilkar is hearing the petition by Rajiv Suri which challenges the Central Vista Project - the construction of the new Parliament and Secretariat - due to various reasons like proper procedure not being followed, environment clearances, etc.

The court had initially said that it would hear the land use matter first and then on other aspects as land use is the first thing to consider and then the other aspects.

The government on its part, had denied any wrong doing in the central vista project and had said that all the environment clearances were in place. It said that the new parliament and secretariat are being constructed as the existing ones are not safe.
