New Delhi: Hours after a special CBI court acquitted all the 32 accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case, senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja told ETV Bharat in an exclusive interview that the verdict will raise many questions related to the constitution and independence of functioning of different institutions like the Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
"The judgement has come as a very big shock. Today's judgement will raise a big question on the Constitution as well as the functioning of government institutions," said Raja.
Raja said that people never expected this kind of verdict.
"Demolition of Babri Masjid was a fact. It took place in public. Evidences were documented and today all accused have been acquired. Then who did this incident," asked Raja who is a former MP.
Referring to the judgement, Raja said, "CBI said it has no strong evidence...what's The efficiency of CBI whereas earlier judgement also referred to the demolition as illegal and criminal act!"
The special CBI court in Lucknow acquitted all the 32 accused in the 28 years old Babri Masjid demolition case including former deputy prime minister LK Advani, former union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharati, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh among others.

Raja came down heavily on the BJP ruled central government and termed it as a "fascist government."
Talking about the Hathras gangrape and death incident of a 19-year-old Adivasi girl, Raja demanded the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
"UP Chief Minister has failed to maintain law and order. He has utterly failed to uphold the constitutional value," said Raja.
The Hathras incident was a horrific crime. "And now the state government has been formed to cover up the incident," said Raja.
The 19-year-old girl from Hathras in UP died in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday two weeks after she was gang-raped and tortured by four men.
