Bhopal: A case has been registered against a man for giving triple talaq to her wife in Bhopal, police said on Sunday.
The incident was reported from Ashoka Garden police station limits and the complaint was filed after the victim filed a complaint against his husband Rizwaan Khan, a property broker by profession.
Police said that the couple was married three years ago but recently got into fights with each other.
"The victim has alleged that she was often tortured for dowry and the matter was pending in the court. Even though the matter was solved five days ago, the husband gave triple talaq to his wife. We have registered a case and an investigation is underway."
Police have registered a case under various sections of IPC, Dowry Act and Muslim Mahila Vivah Adhikar Sanrakshan Adhiniyam 2019 (Muslim Woman Marriage Right Preservation Act, 2019).
