After its last plenary session in October last year, FATF President Xiangmin who hails from China gave a stern to Islamabad. He claimed that if Pakistan fails to comply with the given action plan it will be put in the blacklist.
Pant further claimed that the matter does not just depend on the deliverance on the action plan by Pakistan. Even Pakistan might be able to bargain with Americans given the possible withdrawal its troops from Afghanistan and Pakistan's central role there.
The ORF Director Research even claimed that it will be highly speculative to predict whether Pakistan will get blacklisted or not. He claimed that everything is depending on the conversation between Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Trump administration as the later is very uncertain about every issue.
However, Pant expected positive result as he thought that Pakistan has tried to improve in many fields in this regard.
On Friday, Pakistan's National Executive Committee which handles matters related to the FATF had decided to introduce major amendments to at least a dozen of its laws over the period of six months to remain in compliance with FATF.
