Jalandhar (Punjab): The Jalandhar Consumer Forum has ordered Burger King - an American multinational chain of hamburger fast-food restaurants - to compensate plaintiff Manish Kumar with Rs. 60,067 as fine for serving him with non-vegetarian burgers in place of vegetarian ones.
Expressing his happiness with the judgement, Kumar said, "In the sentence, the District Consumer Forum has ordered Burger King to compensate me with Rs. 50,000 as fine, Rs. 10,000 as the lawyer's fees, and another Rs. 67 which is the price of the two burgers."

"After eating the burger I went and confronted the staff of Burger King and they apologised to me. I have recorded the video of the incident, and I submitted it to the Court as well. I had to undergo treatment at the civil hospital after consuming the burgers," added Kumar.
