New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Thakur on Monday was conferred with the "Champion of Change Award-2019" for social welfare.
Former president Pranab Mukherjee gave the award to Thakur at a function in New Delhi.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Thakur said, "This is just the beginning, there are more things to be done to make a better India."
He further congratulated newly-elected BJP President JP Nadda. He said that the party will reach new heights under Nadda's leadership.
While asking about the upcoming Budget 2020, he said, "This Budget will live up to the expectations."
The Jury for 'Champion of Change' award was headed by former Chief Justice of India, Justice KG Balakrishnan.
Total 26 personalities were given Champions of Change award including Swami Avdheshanand, Maharaj Manish Sisodia for education, Anurag Thakur for Social welfare, Shilpa Shetty for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Suresh Oberoi for Culture, Allu Aravind, Deepa Venkat, Srinivasa Rao for Social welfare and others.
