New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her first General Budget in the Parliament on Friday. The Modi government has tried to give something to every region in this first budget of its second term.
Let's know what is special for the MSME sector in this budget:
- Rs 350 cr allocated for 2% interest subvention for all GST-registered MSMEs on fresh or incremental loans
- The government will create a payment platform for MSMEs to enable filling of bills and payment on the platform itself
- Pension for shopkeepers & retailers with
turnover less than Rs. 1.5 crore to be launched under Pradhan Mantri Karma Yogi Maan Dhan Scheme - Payment platform for MSME's to enable filling of bills and payment on the platform
- 300 entrepreneurs have emerged as a result of Standup India scheme
- Government payments to suppliers and contractors a major source of cash flow especially to SMEs and MSMEs: FM
- Investment in MSMEs will receive a big boost if these delays in payments eliminated
