BSF jawan commits suicide by shooting self

V B Yadav, an Assistant Commandant of the Border Security Force has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Kathua of J&K this morning. However, the motive behind such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is on.

Jammu: An Assistant Commandant of the Border Security Force (BSF) has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Thursday.

The deceased jawan has been identified as V B Yadav of the 90th Battalion. He was posted in Karal Krishna Border Post area along the International Border.

According to officials, the incident occurred at around 8: 45 am when Yadav committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside a camp here.

However, the motive behind such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

The official said, the Body has been recovered and sent to post-mortem, Initial investigation points towards suicide by him with his service pistol and an investigation is on.
