Chamoli: Witnessing the simmering border tension between China and Indian, the Border Road Organization (BRO) has prepared a road to the Chamoli aimed to provide easy access to the soldiers till the border.
The road connects the last check post in India in Rimkhim - 40 kilometers ahead of Malari to other roads on the on the Indo-China border.
The BRO engaged in road construction day and night in view of the escalating tension near the border considered very sensitive in terms of security.
On the other hand, the asphaltization is going on on the road from the Gyaldug check post in Niti Valley to Niti Pass.

Along with this, the road construction work is also being done by BRO. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people living in the border area who say that by having wide roads in the border area, Indian Army personnel and other resources will be easily transported to the border.
Rimkhim is a strategic military post since it is close to the Barahoti ridge, the last point on the Indian side of the border.
