New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Centre to take appropriate steps to regulate app-based taxi services like Ola and Uber in the country.

A bench headed by Justice S A Bobde was hearing a matter related to safety and security of women.

The bench also comprising justices R Subhash Reddy and B R Gavai asked the petitioner to give a representation to the Centre on the issue of regulation of cab aggregators.

When the counsel appearing for the Centre said that it will require amendment in law, the court said, "you have to do it".

Supreme Court asks Centre to consider bringing a law to regulate mobile app-based taxi services like Ola and Uber, for safety and security of women passengers.





SC asks petitioner Nipun Saxena to make represntation in UOI. The represenation may contain suggestion on regulating app based aggregator service such as Ola and Uber  particularly regarding the safety of passangers including woman 





SC directs states to set up one-stop-crisis Centre in each district to deal with sexual offence cases against women and directs them to comply with the guidelines and standard operating procedures framed by Central govt on running of the crisis centre.



The matter will be heard after four weeks
