New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday reiterated that it would form the government in Maharashtra and do "everything required for the good of the state".
"We will do everything required for the good of Maharashtra. We will form the government soon," Bizay Sonkar Shastri, national spokesperson of the BJP told ETV Bharat here.
He said his party would not react to comments made by their ally in the state - Shiv Sena.
Shiv Sena has been demanding the post of chief minister for extending support to form the government.
Shastri, however, exhorted confidence that the BJP would form the government with its ally Shiv Sena soon.
The current term of Maharashtra government ends on November 8.
There has been a deadlock over power-sharing between the BJP and Shiv Sena. They are locked in a tug-of-war over the rotational chief ministership.
While the Shiv Sena said that the people of Maharashtra wants a Sena CM, the BJP maintained the post should remain with them.
The BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 105 seats in the house of 288 seats. The Sena has 56 seats.
