New Delhi: Slamming Maharashtra government and Maharashtra police on Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader and national spokesperson, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that BJP will never remain silent until Sushant's family get justice.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Hussain said," Sushant Rajput achieved a big place in Bollywood in a short span of time and without a godfather. He cannot commit suicide, he has been murdered. The death of the Bollywood actor becoming a major issue in the country and many we are pressing for a CBI inquiry expressing lack of confidence in the Maharashtra police and the state government."

He also questioned the Mumbai Police and Rhea Chakraborty for opposing the CBI probe into the sensational case.

He said,"Shouldn’t the Maharashtra government and its police be with the aggrieved family, with the 74-year-old father who is looking for justice. The police are "competent enough to investigate this matter as the Supreme Court has already ruled out a CBI probe in this case."

"Mumbai police have been investigating for 60 days but no FIR has been filed against anyone, nor has anyone been arrested. The kind of statements coming from Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut are shameful. Maharashtra government is trying to save someone. It is not paying attention to the case," Hussain said.

Reportedly, 34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, and since then, the Mumbai Police has been investigating the case. They have recorded statements of over 40 people in connection with Sushant's death, including that of Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant's family, filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shekhar Kapur, and Yash Raj Films head, Aditya Chopra, among others.
