BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia tests positive for COVID-19

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, who switched over to BJP from Congress in March this year, tested positive for COVID-19. 

According to reports, Scindia was admitted to Max Hospital in South Delhi after showing mild COVID-19 symptoms including fever and throat pain. 

Besides, sources claim that his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia, who was admitted after complaining of throat pain and fever, has also tested positive for COVID-19. 

Scindia, who is one of the three BJP candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, is tended to by a team of three doctors.

Scindia quit the Congress on March 10 and later joined the BJP. His resignation from the Congress triggered a revolt in the Madhya Pradesh party unit, with 22 MLAs who belong to his camp also tendering their resignations.

This led to collapse of the Kamal Nath-led state government, paving way for the BJP to come to power in the state again.
