New Delhi: Kirti Azad, chairman, the campaign committee of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), has denounced the BJP and the AAP, saying they make promises but never fulfil them.
"These two parties are in a habit of making promises, especially when elections are around the corner, but do not work to fulfill the same," Azad told ETV Bharat here.
He said both the parties have humiliated 'poorvanchalis' by ignoring their work and contribution in development of Delhi.
"In case, 'poorvanchalis' stop working even for a day, the city would come to a standstill," he said.
"BJP Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari once made a statement that crime in Delhi was rising because migrants were creating problems in the city. Similarly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that they would buy a ticket to Delhi for five hundred rupees and avail medical facility of lakhs," he said, adding that BJP, which is a partner of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, would not raise the issue of 'poorvanchalis' there.
"They are being mistreated there but BJP has never raised the issue with their political partner," the Congress leaders said.
He said Congress was focused and would do well in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
"It's the Congress that has done a lot for the capital city. Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit took Delhi to new heights and I along with party president in Delhi Subhash Chopra and others would try give Delhi all that it deserves," he said.
Azad, a former Indian cricketer, also denounced Kejriwal saying that he was trying to mislead the people of Delhi, which would not be possible this time around.
