Hyderabad (Telangana): With the ongoing lockdown hitting migrants and daily wagers the hardest, two organisations have come to the rescue of many such labourers across the city, by providing them with ration to help them tide over the tough phase.
Two organisations -- the Bihar Association and the Bihar Foundation are working in cooperation with each other to help the needy staying in various parts of the city.
General Secretary of the Bihar Association, Uttam Yadav, told ETV Bharat that people who lost their livelihoods owing to the lockdown, had been requesting for ration, following which the organisation decided to provide them with essential food items.
According to a press statement released by Yadav, the association has constituted a monitoring committee at the regional level for this program.
This has been done so that the committee can easily identify and help the Bihari daily wagers and others in need in their respective areas, and go to their homes and distribute ration materials with ease.
The statement added that the association has already reached out with help to various labourers in the city's Balanagar, Bowenpally, Uppal, Jeedimetla, Miyapur, and Bolarum areas among others.
Similarly, individuals, who want to help the needy during the crisis, are also donating food and other items to the cause.
The association has been taking stock of the distribution work via video conferencing with executive members. While the association has said that more material can be arranged if required, it has also requested all its members to contribute to the cause as much as possible.
Yadav stressed that care should be taken to ensure that no needy person in the city is deprived of his organisation's service.
